June Planet Report – lunar eclipse on June 4th; Venus transits the Sun

June 3, 2012

June 4, 2012 – partial lunar eclipse

This one is visible here in the western U.S.A.  The reason this one may be a real “whammy” on us, is that BOTH the Moon itself and the malefic north node Rahu that will be trying to “swallow” it, are in their sign of Debilitation, Scorpio!  You Scorpio Ascendents and Moon sign people, especially, may feel like someone is playing “dribble the basketball” with your emotions!

Time this eclipse begins MDT is around 2:48 a.m.; it will be at its greatest strength here in Colorado at 5:03 a.m., and ends approximately 7:18 a.m.  As usual, the Vedic Science advice is to not eat within two hours on either side of an eclipse nor try to view it, be outside while it’s going on, etc. Eclipses are just not considered auspicious events.

VENUS crossing the face of the Sun on June 5th and 6th.  This is a rare event, which will not occur again until the year 2117, which is 105 years away. We cannot “see” it any way, with our naked eyes, for as we know it is not safe to stare into the Sun.

Some clients are asking me if this indicates some type of mystical shift into the Divine Feminine etc., which some metaphysical writers are claiming.  I can only put it in terms of Vedic Astrology, VENUS will be very combust the Sun!  What that means:  when a planet is traveling too close to the Sun, as is the case here, it becomes weak and inauspicious, making a benefic planet like Venus, less benefic, especially when the combustion is strong, within 5 degrees on either side of the Sun.  At the time of this event, Venus will be less than 3 degrees away from the Sun.

This may impact those with Taurus or Libra Moons or Rising Signs, the most. But let us consider the “good” qualities of this planet, i.e. when it is in good dignity and not combust the Sun, etc.  These positive significations include: polite, virtuous, pure, refined, beautiful, harmonious, cooperative, behaving, artistically creative, fond of fine arts, poetic, beautifying, fascinating, original, prosperous, luxurious and passionate.  When this normally very benefic planet is “having a bad day” as it will be when so close to the Sun, then here are the qualities we can expect to see show up somewhere in either our individual lives or on a grander scale, in society or the political landscape giving rise to these qualities:  conceited, seductive, flattering, sensual, greedy, overshadowed, indulging, jealous, immoral, over-passionate, excessive, absorbed.  Venus goes non-combust on June 10.

If you will recall an earlier blog post of mine, these two events, the partial lunar eclipse and combustion of Venus, are overlapping with the start of the difficult personal planetary period for President Obama, which (if his posted birth time is correct) begins today, June 3, 2012. Let’s send him special prayers, as this period does last until July 24th.

Other quick updates on planet changes this month:

Mercury gets out of combustion on June 8th, very helpful to Virgo and Gemini Ascendants and Moon signs, and communication in general.

Sun enters Gemini on June 14th.

Mars enters Virgo on June 21, ending its many months transit through Leo. That same day Mercury enters Cancer.

The two planets which have been in retrograde condition both go DIRECT motion the same week: Saturn on June 25 and Venus on June 27th. This will feel like “progress” to Taurus, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius Rising Signs and Moon sign individuals.  Saturn going forward should help the hard workers or Labor element of society, and those who offer humble and very necessary services in society, at long last.

  1. I do consider all of the ideas you’ve introduced for your post. They’re really convincing and can certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are very quick for novices. Could you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.

    • Thank you! As time allows, I’ll give more in depth – many readers are indeed novices in terms of Vedic Astrology, so it’s interesting trying to write at several levels of comprehension. Must soon write about the move of Venus tomorrow and then Saturn Aug. 3rd!
