January, 2019 New Year Planet Blog
January 2, 2019Are you ready to jump into the new year and play among the stars? What a great time of year to get a personal reading. Once you know your Vedic chart, my monthly Blog posts will make a lot more sense to you. Contact me at 720-448-3742 to set up a session and thank you for sharing this info with your interested friends.
January 1st – Both Moon and VENUS enter Scorpio today, joining benefic Jupiter who is already there. Our water sign friends will feel more emotional, affectionate and sensual today, attracting interest from partners and others. Libras will enjoy a warm connection to family during this Venus transit of their 2nd house, as well as a good flow of finances. Taurus Rising and Moon sign individuals will enjoy their relationship at deeper levels now, and possibly some travel. VENUS stays here until Jan. 29th.
January 5th – Mercury becomes combust the Sun today, on this New Moon in Sagittarius day. There will now be a total of FOUR planets crossing this fire sign. Saturn has already been combust for some time. New Moons are a good time for new beginnings or rituals to increase abundance etc. There is such a mixture of conflicting energies now for those with Sagittarius Rising or Moon signs. There can be feelings of vulnerability and obstacles, yet some positive financial results as well. With two planets combust in this sign, they will feel some inner tensions and restlessness, for sure.
January 6th – There will be a partial solar eclipse today, in the sign of Sagittarius today. The area of visibility will be NE Asia northeast Asia, including Beijing, Irkutsk in Russia, Seoul, Taipei, and Tokyo and the north Pacific. Eclipses are never auspicious and the areas of visibility are where the impact will be felt the most.
January 14th- The SUN enters earth sign Capricorn. Here the Sun is not in a friend sign’s and will be traveling through the 6th house from LEO, which is ruled by the Sun, bringing some discomfort, anxiety, stress, obstacles or health issues for those with Leo Rising or Moon signs. Those with Capricorn Rising or Moon signs will feel some burdens that may include having unexpected bills pop up that must be paid, and going through changes that affect their love of a consistent routine, with their 8th ruler now crossing their 1st house of self, body and direction of their life.
January 18th – SATURN goes non-combust, bringing some relief for Capricorns and Aquarians, which are the signs that Saturn rules.
January 20th – Mercury enters Capricorn. Here Mercury will be traveling with the Sun and the south node of the Moon, Ketu. Those ruled by Mercury, the Virgos and Geminis, may feel greater intuitive tendencies now, which a Mercury/Ketu conjunction can bring. Capricorns will have mixed results with this planet line up and swing between feeling talkative and secretive.
January 20th-21st – No doubt you have already been hearing much talk about this “super blood wolf moon eclipse.” Starting Jan. 20, a total lunar eclipse, or blood moon, that coincides with a supermoon, will be visible throughout the United States. The event starts late in the evening Jan. 20 and finishes during the wee hours of Jan. 21. The total phase of this total lunar eclipse will be visible from North and South America, and western parts of Europe and Africa. Central and eastern Africa, Europe, and Asia will see a partial eclipse of the Moon. For the Mountain Time zone, the eclipse will be at its point of maximum fullness at approximately 10:15 p.m. on January 20th. Again, the classical Vedic text recommend not looking at eclipses, though I understand the temptation to do so. The event symbolizes the malefic north node of the Moon, Rahu, trying to “swallow” or put out the light of the Moon, one of two significant luminaries in our solar system. You can google and read more about the meaning of eclipse in Vedic Astrology. This particular eclipse will occur in the water sign CANCER, which the Moon rules. Thus it will have significant impact on those with Cancer Rising or Moon signs. Moon also stands for mind and emotions, for all charts. Events may occur leading up to and during this celestial occurrence that reflect certain emotional trauma or suffering, especially for the Cancerians of the Vedic zodiac. I myself plan to “lay low” that day! Fortunately “this too shall pass” as is the case with all eclipses. Not fun while such challenges are going on, of course.
January 29th – Venus enters Sagittarius. Here Venus joins its friend Saturn, bringing more playfulness and enjoyment to those with this fire sign Rising or Moon signs, lightening the load the Sags may have been feeling with just task-master Saturn there for some time. Librans will have feel a spurt of creativity, while this 8th house transit for Taureans, may create some feelings of vulnerability or some type of transformation.

Vedic Astrology Planets of June
June 4, 2018Summer is off to a nice start, and June should be a fairly mild month in terms of the dance of the planets, compared to July with two eclipses coming up then.
I feel to remind everyone that however the planets are aligned in your natal chart, we all came in with just the perfect set up to accomplish our soul’s purpose in this life. Having looked at many thousands of birth charts in these past thirty years, I am filled with compassion and respect for the courage it took to pile on our plates various karma and challenges. I thoroughly believe that our soul selects the date, time and place to be born, just as it selects the family into which we are born. As we progress in our journey, don’t we all look back and see how much we have grown, having learned valuable lessons from the most difficult chapters of life? The planets create the timing of those chapters, but it is we who wished to walk through them in our human form and set up those conditions prior to birth.
6/08/18 – VENUS moves into water sign Cancer, bringing some relief to this sensitive sign, which has been bombarded with the roller coaster ride that lunar node RAHU has brought to those with this Rising or Moon sign since 9/09/17. Venus represents love, affection, beauty, the Arts, and comforts, so brings these experiences to Cancerians now. Rahu stands for passion, among other things. The combination of these planets conjunct in Cancer may bring some delightful surprises to our Cancer friends. Venus remains in this sign until July 4th.
6/09/18 – MERCURY enters its own sign of Gemini, bringing greater intellectual clarity and empowering those with Gemini Rising or Moon signs. To have the ruler of their sign now in their first house strengthens these individuals. It is also very good for Virgos, also ruled by Mercury, as it will now be transiting their tenth house of career, power, name and fame. Both signs may feel more playful now (especially the Geminis) and communication should be flowing. Projects dealing with commerce, i.e. buying and selling, will also flourish more.
6/15/18 – The SUN begins its one month journey through Gemini today, joining its friend Mercury there. Leos should enjoy this influence of the lord of their charts passing through their eleventh house of income, gain and fulfillment of desire. Geminis gain more energy and will be busy with numerous projects. The Sun brings a lot of “heat” their way though, so it’s important not to get overheated physically and also avoid arguments and quarrels as the ego could feel strong right now.
6/17/18 – More good news for Geminis and Virgos, as Mercury becomes non-combust the Sun today. This is beneficial, overall, for all of us, helping communication become smoother, more tactful and diplomatic.
6/25/18 – MERCURY enters Cancer. Still good house placements for our Mercury-ruled friends, Gemini and Virgo. This is the second house of wealth, family and communication for Geminis, connecting them in a positive fashion with these areas of life. It is the eleventh house of income and gain for the Virgos. Enjoy it while it lasts! Cancer Ascendant and Moon people may feel more chatty than usual, and engage in some writing. They may also feel a little more inward though, since Mercury rules their twelfth house of seclusion or isolation. Foreign travel could be a possibility.
6/26/18 – MARS becomes Retrograde. Already situated in Capricorn, its sign of Exaltation, which has made it plenty strong, now Mars becomes even more powerful. It rules Scorpios, and this third house position will make them feel courageous, active, having ambition and drive to get much accomplished. Though we cannot forget that it is traveling there with tricky Ketu. These two planets are now, and will be then, within close proximity by degree. Thus Ketu absorbs even more Mars energy. In a way, it is like having TWO Mars planets in this Earth sign! Good luck with that, Capricorns. You know what I mean. Harness the energy, is my advice, without letting it go sideways on the wild goose chases that Ketu may like to introduce. Mars helps you have clear focus and helps your ambition, drive and ability to accomplish things now, too. As I cautioned one client with Capricorn Ascendant, Mars can also bring accidents….and the client reported that a fender bender did occur. Ketu just brings in a tricky, monkey wrench component to practical Capricorns’ best laid plans! Mars also rules Aries, and for those with this Rising or Moon sign, this position is your tenth house of career, name and family, position and personal power. Thus this transit can support your goals well, as long as you keep the Ketu influence in mind. One thing Ketu can bring is addictions of some type. So all Ascendant and Moon sign people referred to in this paragraph certainly need to be mindful to stay away from those.

May Vedic Blog Post: The Planets, as Spring Arrives in Colorado
May 4, 2018It’s time for another Vedic Astrology planet movement update, as the showers of May in Boulder, CO are bringing in a wave of green and many blooming trees and flowers.
Two planets remain in retrograde motion: SATURN and JUPITER. Benefic Jupiter owns Sagittarius and Pisces. It is transiting in the sign of Libra these days, which is the 11th house of gain and income for the Sags, which should be fine. But for the Pisces Rising and Moon folks, that placement is not as good. This represents their 8th house of vulnerability, transformation, battles and disunion, so Pisceans could be feeling a little out of sorts these days, with some things just feeling beyond their control, including job situations.
Saturn governs the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. It is in Sagittarius currently, which is the 12th house transit for Capricorns, thus may bring some problems for these practical earth sign people, as this represents their 12th house of loss, expense, seclusion or isolation. Added to the mix, Saturn also rules their 2nd house of wealth. With 2nd ruler situated in the house of loss now, that adds to financial issues. Unwanted expenses may thus come in out of the blue, while for the Aquarians, it is just the opposite. This placement is their 11th house of income, gains and fulfillment of desire. It’s there for a long while, so dig in and learn the lessons it brings, trying to maintain equanimity in all situations.
May 2nd – MARS entered Capricorn, the sign in which it receives exalted status, joining malefic, tricky Ketu there. Mars will remain in this sign all the way to November 5th this year, due to retrograde motion over the summer. Mars does at least help Capricorns in terms of real estate and also attracting income, gain and fulfillment of desires. The conjunction with Ketu, however, could bring some twists and turns to negotiations, so watch out for anything hidden behind the scenes, or the writing between the lines.
May 9th – MERCURY enters Aries, getting out of its previous debilitated status. Thus, communications over all should improve. Geminis experience income and gain as the ruler of their chart now transits their 11th house. The other sign ruled by Mercury is Virgo. This transit is their 8th house of vulnerability and transformation, so employing meditative practices to maintain their equanimity is of great value.
May 14th – VENUS enters Gemini, bringing stirrings of love and affection in those with this air sign Rising or Moon sign. Typically so intellectual and cerebral in their outlook, Geminis can enjoy a heightened sense of romance during this period.
May 14th – SUN moves into earth sign Taurus for the next 30 days. Those with Leo Rising or Moon (which are ruled by the Sun) will feel active and energetic, with a focus on their work, and just need to watch for getting overheated (excess Pitta dosha). The element of “name and fame” gets highlighted for them now, which is good for their careers and being in the limelight. These “Energetic Leaders” won’t mind that one bit! For Taurus Rising and Moon chart people, the Sun may bring friends or relatives to visit. It heightens self confidence and may bring some real estate deal to consider.
May 24th – MERCURY goes combust the Sun. Thus diplomacy and tactfulness won’t be at their sharpest now. This condition affects Geminis and Virgos the most, but many others may notice some added brusqueness in communication with others, or less intellectual clarity.
May 26 – MERCURY enters Taurus, joining its friend the Sun there. This is an improved situation for Virgos, as the ruler of their charts now travels through their 9th (best) house of good luck and good fortune, dharma, destiny, remedies and Natural Law. For the Geminis, this 12th house transit may cause them to go more inward, feeling a desire for solitude, or the other extreme of simply feeling isolated. It is their house of loss and expense, as well.

FINDING YOUR LIFE PARTNER by Mary Stevenson, Vedic Astrologer 720-448-3742
Romantic relationships can either contribute to great happiness or great sorrow, in most of our lives. Are you one who has a deep desire to bond with someone who is your ideal counterpart?
If you are tired of the pain of “trying to make it work” in situations that are so difficult, that turn out to be outright dysfunctional or your worst nightmare, take heart. Learning more about what you really need and how to spot that in a potential partner, is easier than you think. I can give you an understanding of your key Love Languages, for one thing, which reveals how you most need to connect with others, to feel liked, loved, appreciated, valued, heard and seen.
COMPATIBILITY – In my work as a Vedic Astrologer for the past 30 years, I have helped many couples, as well as singles wanting to be sure they have found Mr. or Ms. Right. My training in this 5000-year-old Vedic Science of understanding the blueprint or roadmap for your life, lets us see if you have found the treasure of lasting love or may be once again barking up the wrong tree.
Key Elements of Successful Relationships:
In addition to the tried and true elements of mutual love, trust and respect, please make sure you have alignment with the would-be partner in these key areas:
-
Communication – If you are born with a different style of communication than your partner, there are tools and insights I can provide which may help. Understanding that we all employ thinking, feeling and acting, but not necessarily in that order, is very important. It helps us understand that not everyone “processes” information or experiences the way we do. Respecting the differences can bring harmony and smoothness to the relationship.
-
Passion – It’s either there or it’s not! This is not an area where we can “pretend it doesn’t matter” or that it will get better in time. You may have a beautiful friendship but without the charm of that special spark of sexual attraction and compatibility, it’s no use trying to trick your mind into believing that the lack of this type of energetic connection will change or improve over time. The Venus/Mars connections, or Venus/Venus connections between two charts make all the difference there.
-
Friendship – This element IS also important in a marriage or union (in addition to passion). When I examine two people’s charts, it is clear to me if it is there, or instead, its nemesis: competition. Let’s leave the competitive spirit in the Olympics or sports contests, for it has no place in a friendship or marriage and has ruined many of both.
-
Shared Life Interest or Life Work – This takes a couples’ attention to a higher realm of a combined contribution to the planet, to mankind, to the betterment of one’s society, country or life on Earth. The inner satisfaction of working as a team, on a project or mission that is “bigger than both of us” expands both hearts and lifts the boat of your relationship to sail out in the tide of the larger Sea of Life and feel in the flow of a higher purpose. This could be a joint volunteer effort, something you enjoy doing together in your spare time, or an actual vocational calling in which you work together daily.
If you are dating someone and starting to get serious, I urge you to contact me for a compatibility reading! You’ll learn all about your Ayurvedic Love Languages and just how compatible your charts are for the long term.

April Planet Transits: Mercury Retrograde Until 4/15/18
April 1, 20183/31/18 Brings us a Blue Moon, in Virgo.
What a nice way to segue into April. The energies of Moon in Virgo are calming, bringing more logic and deductive skills out in the collective mind. Virgos get to enjoy their 11th house ruler, bringing income and gain their way, and fulfillment of desire.
SATURN is such a slow moving planet, that it’s been some time since I’ve written about its travels and how that affects the signs it rules, Capricorn and Aquarius, so it seems only fair to focus on that some. Since 10/26/17 Saturn has been crossing the sign of Sagittarius. This is the 12th house for those with Capricorn Rising or Moon charts. This house is all about loss, expenses, isolation or seclusion. Caps do need to watch their spending now, and do their best to push themselves out into the crowd to mingle with fellow humans, to avoid feeling the worst impacts of loneliness, which this transit can bring. Going on spiritual retreats is advised now, as that is an excellent way to utilize the potential for Enlightenment that a 12th house transit also provides.
For Aquarians, Saturn, the lord of their chart, is traveling through their 11th house, so it can bring income and gain their way, with less effort than previously, so it is a positive experience, for the most part.
SAGITTARIUS is playing host to Saturn. That can bring the ability to focus and work hard for those with this Rising or Moon sign. Life may seem somewhat hectic, too, with all the responsibilities that Saturn brings. Since MARS has also been transitting this fire sign since March 7th, and Mars and Saturn are enemies, there may be feelings of being pushed in one direction and pulled in the opposite direction. Definitely a “hurry up, and then wait” sensation. Mars will remain in this sign until May 2nd, so the internal angst can ease up some then.
4/08/18 – Mercury gets out of combustion with the Sun. This improves communications and tactful interactions overall, and brings relief to those with either Gemini or Virgo Rising or Moon signs, which are ruled by Mercury.
4/13/18 – The SUN enters Aries, where it experiences Exalted dignity. The Leos, who are ruled by the Sun, will enjoy this exalted status, especially as Aries represents their 9th house of good luck, good fortune, remedies, pilgrimage and Natural Law. For those with Aries Ascendants or Moon sign people, the Sun rules their 5th house of success, romance, and educations, highlighting these qualities in their lives now.
4/15/18 – MERCURY GOES DIRECT. As usual, this brings relief to interpersonal communications. Did you notice any snags with technical equipment or anything related to correspondence during this time? Virgos and Geminis can experience forward movement now, in their projects and career.
4/17/18 – SATURN goes retrograde. Its malefic qualities get stronger when it is in retrograde status. This can bring some feelings of depression or being down to those with Sagittarius Rising or especially with that Moon sign, as they are in Sadhe Sati at this time, and have to deal with obstacles, delays and hard work, during this cycle anyway. Now add the retrograde condition…so try to nurture and take care of yourselves at this time! It will stay retrograde until 9/06/18.
4/19/18 – VENUS enters Taurus, its own sign, where it is happy and powerful. This brings more comforts and luxuries to those with Taurus Rising or Moons, including the enjoyment of the arts, beauty or music. For Libras, also ruled by Venus, this is an 8th house transit…which is all about Transformation, and can also bring them some vulnerability. Venus remains here until May 14th.
Remember that for any difficult transit or dasha period (personal planetary cycle) there are ancient Vedic remedies known as Yagyas, which I can describe to you, to alleviate some layers of obstacles. These are most beneficial for “engineering the karma” away from the owner of the chart.

March 2018 Planets: VENUS Goes Into Exaltation
March 1, 2018Spring Comes in with Benefic Venus Becoming Exalted.
3/01/18 – VENUS enters Pisces late in the night, which is its sign of exaltation. Taurus Ascendant and Moon sign people should be very happy, as the ruler of their chart will be now in their 11th house of gain, income and fulfillment of desire, exalted, no less. Woo hoo! Venus also rules Libra, but for the Librans this is the 6th house of worry, stress, obstacles, health issues, so it will not be as positive a transit for them. Pisceans will gain energy and feel warm and loving, as their sensual and artistic side comes out more thanks to Venus. Those with Cancer Ascendants or Moon signs will be delighted to see Venus move into their 9th (best) house to increase their good luck and fortunes now.
3/02/18 – MERCURY enters Pisces, joining his friend Venus in this dual water sign. The only thing is, that is his sign of debilitation, where he feels weakest. Fortunately, having Venus conjunct in this sign now, grants him Neechabhanga yoga, which is a cancellation of that debilitation, to a large degree. These two planets, when traveling together, bring more playfulness, so that’s the party Pisces Rising and Moon sign people will be feeling now. For Virgos, ruled by Mercury, it’s a good house to connect them to partners, business and/or travel. For Geminis, also ruled by Mercury, this is their 10th house of career, action, name and fame so it’s also a helpful transit for them.
3/05/18 – Mercury goes non-combust. That means it is now traveling far enough apart from the Sun, to no longer have its qualities suppressed. Much of the recent irritability and impatience will be gone, for everyone, as Mercury rules communication, but the Virgos and Geminis will especially benefit.
3/07/18 – MARS moves into Sagittarius. Here it joins its enemy Saturn. This will not be so comfortable for those with Sagittarius Rising or Moon signs, because this duo together represents push/pull energy or “hurry up and wait.” It will also not bring the most positive situations for the Aries and Scorpios either, as Mars rules their charts. At least this is the best (9th) house for Aries, and will increase their good luck. This is the 2nd house for Scorpios, so can help them with finances, but with some delays or obstacles, brought on by Saturn.
3/08/18 – JUPITER, the great benefic goes retrograde now, and it will stay in this condition until July 10th. Retrograde status for a benefic, makes it stronger in its benefic qualities (and the opposite when it is malefic planet). The only folks who may feel a sudden halt or slowdown in some of their plans will be those ruled by Jupiter, the signs of Sagittarius and Pisces. Jupiter is currently in the sign of Libra, which is not a great thing for the Librans, for even though it is a great benefic, it does not rule the best houses for Libra. Thus, it is bringing 6th house energy to those with this Rising or Moon sign, i.e. worry, stress, obstacles, delays, health issues, etc.
3/14/18 – The SUN enters Pisces, joining Venus and Mercury there. The Sun can bring some stress to the Pisceans, as it rules their 6th house of worries, stress, enemies, rivals and competitors. For those ruled by the Sun, Leos, the ruler of their chart is now crossing their 8th house of vulnerability, transformation, battles and disunion. So Leos need to be ready for some “changes” with three planets now transiting their transformation house.
3/22/18 – MERCURY GOES RETROGRADE! Hang in there Virgos and Geminis. You know the drill with this influence. It will last until 4/15/18, and affects communication, commerce, tactfulness and diplomacy. The positive, cheerful qualities of Mercury will be lacking to a degree now. Traditionally, this is never a good period for anyone to sign a contract, start a new business, get married, etc. Conditions get further aggravated when Mercury goes COMBUST the Sun on 3/24/18. Combustion makes a planet (and those ruled by it) more easily angered or irritated, and just feeling somewhat rough. This combustion period lasts until 4/08/18.
3/26/18 – VENUS enters Aries, fire sign of new beginnings, just as Spring has officially gotten underway. This brings both good finances and partners to those with Aries Rising or Moon signs, due to the houses it rules for them. Libras will be happier to have this benefic ruler of their chart now traveling through their house of partners, business and travel. Taureans will either feel to isolate themselves a little more, or need to watch out for spending too much now. At least it is the house of “bed pleasures” and foreign travel for them.
Remember that for any difficult transit or dasha period (personal planetary cycle) there are ancient Vedic remedies known as Yagyas, which I can describe to you, to alleviate some layers of obstacles. These are most beneficial for “engineering the karma” away from the owner of the chart.

January, 2018 – Planets in the Vedic Sky
January 2, 2018First, an overview of highlights for 2018, and then I’ll touch on the planet moves for January.
Cancer Rising and Moon sign folks will have to make peace with all the changes that Rahu passing through that sign will bring them throughout 2018. Cancerians enjoy the peaceful pleasures of home life, but Rahu likes to cause chaos and unexpected events. Change is the “constant” for the year ahead, and possible dealings with “foreigners.” Rahu also stands for transformation, so we can visualize positive changes, if we are willing to embrace growth.
Across the zodiac, those with Capricorn Ascendants or Moon signs are experiencing the transit of Ketu, the south node of the Moon, through their sign. It stands for “hindrance and degradation” so there may be much soul-searching going on, some shyness, and even psychic experiences. Ketu can also bring a sudden mobilization of energy and a sudden manifestation of events. It is the other half of Rahu, the cosmic serpent, so unrest is likely, but again, can be used as a tool for greater understanding of one’s deeper nature, and for growth, if we decide to not resist the experiences it is sure to bring. In addition, SATURN, ruler of Capricorn, is passing through their 12th house of isolation, seclusion, loss and expenses. This also can bring a focus on spiritual development and enlightenment.
Scorpios are enjoying a nice break now that Saturn finally moved from their sign on 10/26/2017. That is the first time for Scorpios to be free of the heaviness and restrictions Saturn can bring, for the previous 2.5 years. There are more good things to look forward to in the coming year, depending on the transits of Mars, lord of your chart (watch my blog posts, or get a yearly reading with me), and the icing on the cake is benefic Jupiter, friend of Mars, moving into Scorpio on 10/11/2018.
For Libras, Jupiter is not their best planet, based on the houses it rules. Until it moves out of their sign on 10/11/2018, it will bring more work, service to perform, and various projects. That won’t wear you out, but keep you busy, for sure. You’ll have to watch for weight fluctuations if you have Libra Rising or Moon sign.
Sagittarians now have the weight of Saturn on their sign, where it will stay for about 2.5 more years. This brings a more serious disposition to this normally fun-loving sign. It can bring money (rules their 2nd house) but lots of responsibilities and duties, and there’s just no getting around that. Some may even have bouts of depression, but staying active, finding ways to help others, would be a good remedy for that.
ECLIPSES in 2018: January 31 = total lunar eclipse; February 15 = partial solar eclipse; July 13 = partial solar eclipse; July 27 = total lunar eclipse; August 11 = partial solar eclipse. I will describe each of these more fully, as I get to the monthly blog posts for those months.
JANUARY 2018 Transits: (to fully understand what they mean for YOU, it’s best to book a yearly reading with me. Call 720-448-3742).
1/01/2018 – We begin with a FULL MOON in Gemini. Cancerians (ruled by the Moon) may feel more inward, or even a little lonely or isolated, as this is a 12th house transit for them. On the other hand (a saying Geminis are very fond of…) they may feel a lot of spiritual fullness within as they use this time to meditate or reflect on where they are and the kind of year they’ve just experienced, coming through the challenges triumphantly. A la that song, “I’m still standing!” ♪
1/01/2018 – Both Saturn and Venus go combust the Sun today. This could bring some heightened edginess or easy irritability for the signs ruled by these planets: respectively, Capricorn, Aquarius, Taurus and Libra. Saturn goes non-combust on 1/07/2018. Venus goes non-combust on 2/19/2018.
1/06/2018 – MERCURY moves into Sagittarius. This is a welcomed position for those with Gemini Rising or Moon signs, as the ruler of their charts now shifts from the house of health problems, to the 7th house of business, partnership and travel. For Virgos, also ruled by Mercury, this is the 4th house of home, friends, vehicles, and self confidence, so it is also a good position.
1/13/2018 – VENUS enters Capricorn. This is a friend’s sign so Venus is happy there. Good for both signs that Venus rules: for Taureans it will now be in their 9th house of good luck, good fortune, dharma, remedies and Natural Law. For Librans, this is their 4th house of comforts, home, friends, vehicles, self-confidence.
1/14/2018 – now the SUN joins Venus in Capricorn (which is one reason Venus is still combust into February, as they are traveling so close together now) This is not a friend’s sign for the Sun, which rules LEO. It is their 6th house of enemies, rivals, competitors, stress, worries, and health issues for our Leo friends, so they will have to wade through some of the above for a one month period now.
1/16/2018 – MARS happily enters Scorpio, its own sign, filling those who have this Rising or Moon sign with energy, courage, drive, initiative and the like. The only thing to watch for is possible bursts of anger or irritability, if things don’t happen as fast as you would like. Speaking of speed, better slow down, to avoid a speeding ticket during this transit! For the Aries Rising and Moon signs, also ruled by Mars, well…that is their 8th house, so there may be some vulnerability and changes to deal with.
1/26/2018 – MERCURY goes combust the Sun. This cycle in which a planet travels too close to the Sun (which makes a planet grouchy, angry, more reactive than normal) occurs more frequently for Mercury than any other planet, because it habitually travels closer to the Sun than the rest. You may feel the subtle effects of just being more sensitive or reactive to things you normally would let roll off your back. It can be helpful to employ meditative techniques to maintain your equilibrium and peace of mind during these cycles.
1/27/2018 – MERCURY enters Capricorn, joining the Sun, Venus and Ketu in this Earth sign. Capricorn Rising and Moon sign people have a lot to juggle now, with many projects keeping them busy, some vulnerability brought to them by the Sun (ruler of their 8th house) but also some playfulness which Mercury and Venus traveling together generally bring to the party. This is the 8th house for Geminis, which represents vulnerability and transformation. It is the 5th house of education and success for Virgos, the other sign ruled by Mercury, so a better deal for the Virgos.
1/31/2018 – Total Lunar Eclipse, occurring in the sign of Cancer, which is ruled by the Moon. Those with Cancer Ascendants or Moon signs can expect to feel more sensitive than normal, as Rahu tries to “put out the light” of this luminary. Moon represents mind and emotions so can effect the clarity of one’s mental and emotional level now. This eclipse will be visible in the USA, thus it has more impact on Americans. Here are all the areas of visibility for this one: western North America, North/East Europe, North/East Africa, Asia, Australia, South America, Antarctica, the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans. It is interesting that our current president was born during a total lunar eclipse, so I will be watching to see how this one affects him. It occurs in his 12th house of loss.

November Vedic Planet Blog and a Memorial Tribute
November 2, 2017Thank you if you have any friends that may forward my blogs to, who may find them of interest.
Saturn moved into Sagittarius on October 26th. I am wondering how that has affected your life?
Saturn has been sweeping away into the Next World, a number of people whose charts were thus affected, including famed Vedic Astrologer Chakrapani Ullal, and one of my closest friends, Sandra Messick. I am grieving the loss of my friend and dedicating this month’s Blog to her.
11/01/17- MERCURY moved into Scorpio today. This works out fine for Virgos, as it will bring creative energy to their projects and help increase business. For the other sign ruled by Mercury, which is Gemini, this placement is not as helpful, as Scorpio represents their 6th house of health problems, enemies, rivals and competitors. Worry and nerves could now be a bother to our Gemini friends. It will stay in this sign until 11/24.
11/02/17 – VENUS moves into its own sign of Libra, where it becomes strong and healthy, which is a relief after its stint in Virgo, its sign of debilitation. Venus joins the Sun and benefic Jupiter in this air sign, so lots of energy now for Libras, with two benefics and the Sun here. Venus here relieves to a degree, the Sun’s debilitation in this sign. Libras benefit and may feel more like a flower in bloom than they have in some time. Taureans are also ruled by benefic Venus. Libra represents their 6th house so there it can multiply their worries, stress and some health concerns, especially the endocrine system or reproductive organs, so it’s a good time to get a check up.
11/09/17 – JUPITER gets out of combustion with the Sun. This will be a relief for Pisceans and Sagittarians, as this ruler of their charts has been traveling too close to the Sun for comfort since October 12th.
11/15/17 – The SUN enters water sign Scorpio, a friend’s sign. The Sun rules Leo, so they will feel more connected to friends and enjoy the comforts of home. Scorpios, on the other hand, receive the 10th house action and power energy of the Sun now, which makes them more active.
11/24/17 – MERCURY enters fire sign Sagittarius. Geminis will feel more outgoing, connecting to others more as the ruler of their charts crosses the 7th house of travel, business, partners and other people. For Virgos, this is their 4th house, so also a positive placement. They should be spending more time with friends and supporters.
11/26/17 – VENUS enters Scorpio, bringing its charm to this fixed water sign. Our Scorpio friends will feel more affectionate and attractive now. Libras benefit as this is their 2nd house of wealth, family and speech. Taurus Rising and Moon signs benefit from this transit with the ruler of their charts passing through their 7th house of business, partners and travel.
11/28/17 – Venus goes combust the Sun. When a planet travels too close to the Sun it can feel angry, irritable, edgy and more reactive than usual. This translates into this type of underlying feeling level for Librans and Taureans, the signs that Venus rules.
11/29/17 – MARS moves into Libra today. This will energize those with Libra Rising or Moon signs, and bring attention from partners, family and a nice connection with money, based on the houses it rules for them. For Scorpios, this is their 12th house so they could feel a bit more withdrawn or reclusive at this time. But the wisest way to rule this placement is with a focus on spiritual development, possibly attending some retreat or even some foreign travel is possible for some. For the other sign ruled by Mars, Aries, this is their 7th house of partners, so this transit serves to help them connect to a partner, focus now on business or enjoy some traveling.
Blessings of the planets to you, from the Sunshine Corner, happy to be back in Boulder, CO. Tel. 720-448-3742 (cell); or 928-284-4060 (home). Thank you for any referrals you may send me. October Planets: SATURN moves at last, on the 26th
October 2, 2017Autumn greetings to you all, from a chilly and rainy Boulder, Colorado. I hope you are feeling blessed as this new season arrives.
Let’s go right to the main attraction of planet movements this month, since this event occurs only every 2.5 years.
10/26 – SATURN MOVES INTO SAGITTARIUS! My many friends with Moon in Scorpio will be so glad to feel that weight lifting off of them, after its 2.5 year stay in that sign. Oh, Saturn briefly entered Sagittarius earlier, from 1/26 to 6/20 but then went retrograde to once again tap dance on the Scorpio Moon minds and hearts, which the Moon represents. It will be a blessed relief for those of you with a natal Scorpio Moon to finally go into the last third of your 7.5 year Sadhe Sati period, i.e. just not as intense for you.
So what about us?, you Sag Moon people are thinking, yes? Well, at least Saturn rules your second house of wealth, so can bring some money to you — but it will be the hard way, through work and service, and you can expect it to come with delays, snags and obstacles. If your natal Moon is in Sagittarius, you may also experience some grief during the next few years. Sometimes that is not related to anything going on in the outer world. This placement can simply bring internal angst and feelings of isolation, etc. Sadhe Sati gives an opportunity to look deep within at what really matters in this life, and become more detached and philosophical. Try to use this period to your advantage, in terms of spiritual growth.
And now back to our regular order of business:
10/09 – VENUS enters Virgo. It is in this Earth sign that Venus experiences debilitation, i.e. not as strong here. Thus the signs it rules, Taurus and Libra, will not feel as robust as usual, perhaps. Especially for the Libras, it is not such a good placement as Virgo represents your twelfth house of loss, expenditure and isolation. But it can be a good time to go inward and perhaps attend a meditation course or retreat. For Taureans, it is a good house placement at least, as the fifth house connects you to children, lovers, success in the relative world or speculative matters, plus education.
10/12 – JUPITER goes combust the Sun. This great benefic recently entered the air sign of Libra (on 9/11). It rules the sign of Pisces, so this placement in the Pisceans’ eighth house can bring vulnerability on the physical level and transformation. Parts of life as you knew it will undergo changes, ready or not, Pisces friends. For the Sagittarians, the other sign it rules, this placement is in your eleventh house of income and gain, so it’s a better scene for you. Take advantage of this placement to ask for a raise, or buy a property, for Jupiter also owns you fourth house of real estate. For the host sign of Libra, well, Jupiter does not rule your best houses. It can bring you some energy, but also some stress and worry. Also, you will have to be careful not to put on extra weight for the year that Jupiter will be in your first house! Being combust the Sun makes a planet more irritable and not able to give its best significations. This condition lasts for Jupiter until November 9th.
10/13 – MARS enters Virgo. Here it joins Venus, the Sun and Mercury. So it’s a four planet party for the Virgos. Mars adds more ambition, energy and action to the mix, but also, since it owns the eighth house for Virgos, some vulnerability. Be careful of doing things too fast, which can lead to accidents. Also try to avoid being more quarrelsome than usual, as Mars can represent anger and irritability. Mars rules Aries and Scorpio. Virgo is the eleventh house of gain and income for the Scorpios so good for you, in that department. For Aries, this represents your sixth house of health problems, stress and worry, so take measures to maintain your health, and meditate for relaxation and to avoid the stress this period may bring.
10/13 – MERCURY also moves a little later on this day, into a friend’s sign, Libra. This is a mixed blessing for the Libras, as governing your ninth house of good luck and good fortune, remedies, pilgrimage and natural law, it can bring those qualities to enjoy in practical ways in your every day life. However, it also governs your twelfth house of loss and expenses. Thus you will have a mutual exchange of houses now, with the lord of your chart, Venus, sitting in the twelfth house and ruler of the twelfth house, Mercury, in your first house of self, body and direction of your life. You can make a lot of spiritual progress now if you focus on that. The other choices are foreign travel or “bed pleasures”!
For Geminis, Mercury here is in the fifth house of success, education, children, so it’s a nice placement for you. For Virgo, the other sign ruled by Mercury, this is your second house of family, wealth and communication, so also a good placement.
10/17 – The SUN enters Libra today. This is its sign of debilitation where it is weakest. For the Leos, which the Sun rules, this represents the third house of short journeys, projects, and vitality. It’s not a bad placement and you will still feel fairly ambitious. For the Libras, this planet rules your house of gain, so it can act in a positive fashion to bring you better income or gain of any item for the next month.
10/26 – As discussed above, SATURN enters Sagittarius.
10/31 – HAPPY HALLOWEEN! MERCURY goes non-combust the Sun, so Geminis and Virgos will enjoy some relief from that condition, and communication for everyone should improve. Mercury had been combust since September 21. May the planets now bring you many “treats” and fewer tricks!
Blessings of the planets to you, from the Sunshine Corner in Boulder, CO. Tel. 928-284-4060. Thank you for any referrals you may send me.
