VENUS Enters Libra Today, November 29th

November 29, 2015

December is nearly here! We shall examine the story that the movement of planets in the Vedic sky spells out for next month, but first a nice reminder:

11/29/15  – This evening benefic Venus moves happily into its own sign of LIBRA.  All those with Libra Moon or Rising signs in the Vedic Astrology system will be feeling so much better, as the ruler of your birth chart leaves its nearly four week transit of your 12th house of loss and expenditures, in its sign of debilitation, no less, and traveling with that rough character Rahu (and Mars as well).  By tomorrow you will begin to feel attractive, sexy, warm, affectionate and a lot more sociable than you have felt all this month. What a relief, eh?

VENUS also rules fixed earth sign, Taurus.  This new transit won’t be quite as pleasurable for our Taurus friends, as Libra represents your 6th house of worry, stress, enemies, rivals, competitors and health problems.  So there can be a “too much to do and not enough time to do it” pressure type of feeling now.  Try and enjoy the holidays, even so.  Venus does not change signs again until right on Christmas day, when it enters Scorpio – this will be a good position for both the Librans and Taureans.  Scorpios will likely enjoy that shift as well, on 12/25.

12/05/15 – MERCURY moves into Sagittarius late this night. In fact it will occur 12/06 for those in the eastern and central time zones.  For both of the signs that Mercury rules, Virgo and Gemini, this new position represents good houses for you.  Geminis will feel more outgoing and less stressed or worried now.   Virgos will be connecting with friends and supporters more, as well as enjoying the comforts of home.  Both will be glad that Mercury now pulls away from its conjunction with Saturn and the Sun where it has been in Scorpio.  However, Mercury remains too close to the Sun (combustion) until 12/13/15.

12/15/15 – The Red Planet, Mars now moves into Libra.  This is a beneficial change, to also get Mars away from its conjunction with Rahu that has been going on in Virgo for some time.  These two planets together contribute to turmoil, warlike actions, chaos, and some of the recent acts of terrorism the world has had to suffer through lately.  Librans will feel energized once Mars is in their sign.  For a ten day period both Venus and Mars in Libra will really contribute to some fun times for you! It’s also a big relief for the Virgos to have Mars move off their 1st house of self and body.

12/16/15 – SATURN GOES NON-COMBUST.  This is a very good thing, as Saturn and the Sun are enemies and Saturn does not like the heat that the Sun brings its way, when they travel too closely together.  I feel that this condition (since November 12th) has also contributed to various protests, unrest among workers and general unrest in various segments of the population during this period. Capricorn and Aquarius Rising and Moon sign people will be breathing a sigh of relief, and just able to breathe easier as life will get a bit less problematic now.

12/16/15 – That same day, the Sun moves into fire sign Sagittarius.  This is a friend’s sign for the Sun, so it is comfortable here. This is helpful for Leos, the sign ruled by the Sun.  This position represents their 5th house of romance, success, education, learning ability and children so any of these areas of life may get enlivened for the Leos now.  It’s fine for the “Sag-es” as well, as this bring 9th house energy (good luck and good fortune) to them, plus a feeling of personal power as the Sun takes its one month stroll across this sign.

12/25/15 – MERRY CHRISTMAS!  As mentioned above, VENUS moves into Scorpio, at around 2:45 a.m. Mountain Time.  This is the 2nd house for Libras, thus it may increase your cash flow and family time. This is the 7th house for Taureans, thus travel is highlighted now as well as feeling close to your romantic partner.  Scorpios enjoy an increase in their usual charisma and powers of attraction now.

12/26/15 – Mercury enters Capricorn.  This is a mixed bag for the Capricorn Rising and Moon sign people. It can bring that 9th house blessing of a certain amount of good luck, but the 6th house energy that Mercury represents for you can bring some stress, as well. At least you will feel more talkative than usual and communications will be emphasized now, as you employ your problem-solving abilities. For the Virgos and Geminis who are ruled by this planet – the position is nice for the Virgos, as Mercury crosses your 5th house of children, success in relative matters or speculation; it’s easy to learn new things, etc. But for the Geminis, this is your 8th house of vulnerability and transformation so try to keep your chin up and make up your mind to not take things personally!  At least it may be a good time for deep meditations.

Working on my second book will keep me busy well into 2016.  Remember to keep up with my latest author blogs, too, on my website marystevensonauthor.com  – It’s not too early to think about your New Year’s resolutions. September Vedic Planets and the Upcoming 9 Days of Mother Divine

September 6, 2015

The yearly celebration of the 9 Days of Mother Divine begins on October 13th this year.  For those of you who feel a resonance of alignment with the Mother aspect of the Divine, or the Divine Feminine energy which nurtures all of our lives, you may find it a blessing to participate in a group yagya for this event.

There is a wonderful team of priests on the banks of the Ganges in India, who offer this ancient ritual.  My friend Suzy goes there yearly with her husband, to visit head priest Sajal’s Temple to Mother Divine.  If you wish to have your name included, she will need to receive a new photo from you and of a course a donation for the materials they use in this yagya. Minimum suggested donation is $108 per person.  Her email is suzsez@gmail.com and she will need to hear from you soon, as she has some travel scheduled and that means taking care of all these details with her by SEPTEMBER 22 – she needs your photos and letter of intentions by that date and will need all donations collected to send to India by October 1st.

PLANET MOVEMENTS FOR SEPTEMBER, 2015 in the system of Vedic Astrology, also known as Jyotish

September 6 – Benefic VENUS has gone direct motion now!  This is a very positive development, especially for those whose birth charts and moon charts (Chandra lagna) are ruled by Venus, Libras and Taureans.  Now whatever plans you may have put on hold during this time of Venus retrograde (began July 25) can experience a fresh energy of forward movement and progress. Venus is still crossing through the water sign of CANCER along with Mars, bringing some positive energy and passion to the Cancer Rising and Moon sign people.

September 10 – Benefic JUPITER will get out of combustion, i.e. a period in which it has been traveling too close to the Sun. This is beneficial to those with Leo Rising or Moon signs, as this is where Jupiter is transiting these days, as well as most positive for the Sagittarius and Pisces Rising and Moon sign people, since Jupiter rules your charts. Now you can enjoy feeling less hassled, and more free from irritation and pressure of various types.

September 15 – MARS enters Leo, a friend’s sign.  Mars here joins his cosmic friends Jupiter and the Sun. These are all “male energy” planets so I expect to see the Leo Ascendants and Moon sign people feeling most energized, dynamic, confident, ambitious and driven during this period.  This conjunction is also nice for Cancerians as Leo represents our second house of wealth, family and communication, so much good energy is brewing there for you, too.

September 17 – MERCURY GOES RETROGRADE!  Oh yikes, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.  This retrograde period will last until October 9th.  This “appearance of going backward” condition does not just affect the Virgos and Geminis (which it surely does, with Mercury ruling their charts) but also creates confusion across the astrological sign board, with Mercury representing communication and commerce.  Watch for misconstruing someone else’s words or intentions, and do not be surprised if others misinterpret yours.  It is a time to strive for clarity (Mercury also governs the intellect), diplomacy and tact in your interactions with others. Even communication equipment can have breakdowns or go haywire unexpectedly in these Mercury Retrograde periods. So don’t say I didn’t warn you! Not a good time to be signing new contracts, starting new businesses, or even sending in your tax returns. Can’t it wait?

September 24 – MERCURY goes combust the Sun. This often occurs during a retrograde period, adding more stress to this planet of communication and to the lives of those whose natal charts it rules (Virgo, Gemini).  This time combustion (traveling too close to the fiery Sun) lasts until October 6th.  Watch for getting a short fuse and irritability during this time.

September 30 – VENUS enters Leo.  It joins Jupiter and Mars there, so the party moves to Leo.  This should be a fun time for the fixed fire sign lions of the zodiac. Pleasure, passion, happiness, knowledge…and okay, perhaps a touch of self-indulgence, will now be experienced by those with Leo Ascendants and Moon signs.

Planets Transits in the Vedic Sky for January, 2015

December 31, 2014

Happy Vedic Stars to you in this new year of 2015! I wish you all good fortune as we turn the corner into this fresh start. Please keep in mind as you read my Blog about these planet movements, that your own Dasha periods matter the most, at any time period under consideration. These are your personal planetary cycles, based upon your date, place and accurate time of birth. When I provide my Vedic Astrology readings, we go deeply into the effects that both your dashas and the planet transits (gochara) are having in your life at this time.

Helpful Note: if you have not had your Vedic chart read by me as yet, this will help you understand how your birth chart appears in our system, which is based upon the Sidereal or Fixed Zodiac: just take every planet and also the degree of your Ascendant as they appear in your western astrology chart back 23 degrees, and that will give you a good idea of what your Vedic birth chart looks like to me, so that my Blog posts can be of use to you.

1/01/15 – The MOON is exalted (in Taurus) as we begin this year. This brings blessings of prosperity and positive dealings with the public to those with Taurus Rising or natal Moon charts. Those with Cancer Rising or Moon should benefit as well.

MERCURY makes a lot of changes this month and is a player we must watch.

1/01/15 – MERCURY gets out of combustion. This brings some ease to the Virgo and Gemini Ascendants and Moon chart people, for whenever the ruler of their signs is traveling too close to the Sun there can be friction, and feelings of being easily annoyed and irritated. It’s nice to start the year, getting out of that condition.

Mercury just did move into the sign of Capricorn on 12/31/14, joining its friend, benefic Venus there. Mars also is in Capricorn, its sign of exaltation as the new year starts. Thus the Capricorns of the zodiac should be feeling energized, ambitious, playful and in a very fun-loving mood right now.

1/04/15 – MARS moves into Aquarius. Now the energy torch passes to this fixed Air sign, and those with Aquarius Rising or Moons will feel their worlds heat up with the driving action energy that only Mars can bring. Expect to be drawn into some creative project now. You will also see a boost in your career from this transit.

1/14/15 – The SUN moves into Capricorn for the next 30 days. This is not the most advantageous sign for the Sun, as it is ruled by Saturn, and those two are not friends. For Leos, ruled by the Sun, this represents a 6th house transit for you. The 6th house is associated with enemies, rival, competitors as well as worry, stress, anxiety and health issues. For Capricorns, this represents the 8th house ruler crossing the first house of self and body. The 8th house deals with vulnerability, transformation and sexuality. With this influence impacting you now, Capricorns, try to put off major decisions for one more month, if you can, for you will be feeling better and thinking more clearly once the Sun has moved out of your sign.

1/21/15 – MERCURY RETROGRADE STRIKES AGAIN! Need I say more? These periods come three times per year, typically, and last for three weeks at a time. Thus we will be dealing with this retrograde period’s impact on communications until 2/11/15. This can be experienced in a whole host of ways, from misunderstandings in personal communications, to melt-downs occurring in any equipment that deals with communications. Mercury will be in the sign of Capricorn when this cycle begins, which is a friend’s sign. For Virgos, this represents your 5th house of education and success, so that’s a good placement for the ruler of your chart. The other sign that Mercury rules is Gemini. For the Ascendants and Moon sign Gemini folks, this will be your 8th house transit, so it is not such a comfortable position for you, since this house represents vulnerability.

1/22/15 – Venus moves into Aquarius. Here it will join Mars, which is already in this sign, making those with Aquarius Rising or Moon signs feel sexy and attractive, and adding to your creativity now. Librans will likewise feel rather romantic as Venus represents the ruler of your chart, now crossing the 5th house of romance. Taurus is also ruled by Venus. This transit represents your 10th house, thus career should get some positive energy and focus from you Taureans now.

1/24/15 – MERCURY now also goes Combust the Sun (in addition to being retrograde). It will remain in this condition until 2/04/15. Those who will be most influenced by their ruling planet being too close to the Sun, are Virgos and Geminis. As usual, remember to be tactful and utilize your natural logical abilities vs. giving in to irritability now.

To understand how these planetary shifts affect your own life in 2015, please call me to schedule your personal reading.

Finally, SATURN MOVES!! November 2, 2014

October 29, 2014

Ready, set….go, Saturn, go!  What a relief for everyone with Libra Rising or Moon Signs, at long last.

Saturn is our slowest moving planet and only changes signs approximately every 2.5 years.  On November 2, 2014 it enters the fixed water sign of SCORPIO.  Before you freak out, Scorpios, I want to point something out.  I actually feel that this will be an improvement for you as well, to get Saturn out of your 12th house of Loss and Expenditure. Sure, Saturn will require that you focus, work hard and keep a structured schedule for the next couple of years, but it owns your 3rd and 4th houses. That means it can bring you more courage, vitality and energy, in a Saturn sort of way, and also bring you “friends and supporters.”  It will be an interesting time in which you may feel more philosophical and more inward detachment from the problems of this mundane world.

Those with Scorpio Moon signs will be entering the middle part of their Sadhe Sati. Those with Sagittarius Moon signs, will be just beginning their 7.5 years of this cycle in which malefic Saturn transits the sign just before their Moon, then right on their Moon, and finally in the 2nd house to their Moon.  Those with Virgo Moon signs will be fully out of Sadhe Sati on November 2nd!

I urge you to google Sadhe Sati and read more in depth about its impact on an individual’s life.  While it certainly can bring obstacles, delays, grief, depression, separation and the like, if one decides to work WITH Saturn and learn the inherent lessons this period offers, it doesn’t have to be all bad. It certainly does not mean that there will be no successes or happiness at all during this period.  Saturn in such a transit allows us to “recondition our attitude,” to a big degree. If we choose to have an attitude of service to others, and to our duty to job, home, family, etc. , then life will go more smoothly.  If anyone has been trying to hang onto selfish, lazy, arrogant, egotistical, or unkind attitudes, you can either kiss that approach to life goodbye, or prepare for some hard, spiritual lessons that Saturn will be happy to deliver! Saturn is pretty obliging that way.

I find it interesting to watch the pellmell pace at which our western society seems driven to obtain name and fame, wealth and status, power and position, as though this journey is all about some materialistic competition. I guess when the Ego is in charge, that is what it becomes. All bona fide spiritual traditions, however, hammer home to us the need to evolve spiritually, to be the best people we possibly can be in this lifetime and to “do unto others, as we’d have them do unto us.”  We could have Heaven on Earth if those in power in every country would just kindly remember what we really came here to accomplish, eh? Well, something to dream about, as Saturn shifts its weight and brings these changes, ready or not.  At least you cannot say that I didn’t warn you!  There’s a lovely quote from Shari Alyse: “You can never lose your way, for your Light will always guide you back home.”  I feel that’s true, but we can go the easy way, or the hard way. That is up to our free will choices.

Please remember that to fully understand your Vedic Birth Chart, it’s as simple as taking all planets and the degree of your rising sign from your western astrology chart back by approximately 23 degrees. That is a simple rule of thumb to go by. You can read about the difference between western and Vedic Astrology in one of my website articles by the same name at: http://www.vedicstarcharts.com

Currently, Venus has been very combust the Sun (traveling too close to the fiery orb, i.e. a “crispy critter” which affects all its significations) for the past several days. Yesterday, I experienced that condition as being quite similar to Mercury Retrograde! (which ended on Oct. 25).  VENUS will go non-combust on December 4th, and that will be a nice relief, especially for the Libra and Taurus Rising and Moon sign folks, whose charts it rules.  Combustion of a planet makes it more “angry” and ready to snap, than is normally the case.

November 4 – Mercury moves into Libra. This is a positive transit for our Libra friends, bringing smoother communications, attracting support of Nature and spiritual guidance now.

November 11 – VENUS enters Scorpio, bringing blessings to this fixed water sign.  You will now attract partners and business, plus be feeling more attractive and creative. Enjoy!

November 13 – Mercury goes combust until the evening of January 1, 2015. This can put a damper on communications in general and especially for the Virgo and Gemini Rising and Moon signs. This cycle in which a planet travels too close to the Sun makes it feel grouchy, angry, more reactive than normal. Combustion occurs more frequently for Mercury than any other planet, because it habitually travels closer to the Sun. Nonetheless, you may feel the effects of just being more sensitive or reactive to things you normally would let pass. Employ meditation practice to maintain your equilibrium and peace of mind during these cycles. Mercury rules the skin and nerves, so being combust the Sun may cause imbalances in either of these areas now.  At least we are done with all the Retrograde periods of Mercury for this year!

November 16th – the Sun enters Scorpio, ending its one month stay in its sign of debilitation, Libra.  Those ruled by the Sun, Leo Rising and Moon sign people, should feel better energy now.  Scorpios will enjoy the POWER which the Sun supplies, both from its own characteristics and the fact that it rules your 10th house of power, name and fame. Thus it brings those qualities to you, as it crosses your first house of self and bodyIMG_2865. The Sun will remain in this sign until  December 15th.

November 24 – Mercury enters Scorpio, joining the Sun, Saturn and Venus there for a nice “planetary pile up”  – lots of energy condensing for you Scorpio Ascendants and Moon sign people to harness and make work for you in productive ways.  It can be a very powerful time, if you don’t let Saturn’s tendency for obstacles slow you down.

November 27 – Mars enters Capricorn, its sign of exaltation. This is great for both signs ruled by Mars, Scorpios and Aries Ascendents and Moon signs. It also brings much energy to earthly Capricorns, increasing your opportunity to benefit from real estate endeavors now.

To understand how these planetary shifts affect your own life, please call me to book a reading!

Both SUN and Venus in Exalted Status now

May 5, 2014

Vedic Astrology Planet Changes for May, 2014

We now have both the lunar and solar eclipses of April behind us, and thus we can hope for some more peaceful times.

For a few days, we had THREE planets all in their signs of Exaltation: Moon, Sun and Venus.  The Moon was only in Taurus from April 30th at 3:55 a.m. MDT until May 2nd at 12:38 p.m. MDT, as it changes signs every two and a half days.

When both the Sun and Moon are exalted, each year one day is named the Day of Lasting Achievement, so if you got any projects done on May 1st, going into May 2nd, that was an auspicious time for new beginnings, etc.

Those with Rising or Moon signs of Cancer, would have enjoyed that brief couple of days with the ruler of their charts in that high status in the house of gain and income.

The Sun has been exalted in Aries since April 13 and will stay in that sign until it moves into Taurus on May 14, thus LEO Rising and Moon signs (which are ruled by the Sun) have been enjoying greater support of Nature and the feeling of personal power which they love so much.  Aries, likewise would be feeling rearing to go, except for that malefic Ketu still in the sign of Aries (until 7/13/14).

VENUS, a great benefic planet which rules the signs of Libra and Taurus, went into Pisces its sign of Exaltation on April 27 and stays there until May 23 – this is beneficial to the Taurus Ascendent and Moon sign folks, as it is crossing through their house of gain and income. For the Librans, it is not so helpful there, since Pisces represents their 6th house of stress, worry, anxiety, enemies, rivals and competitors, multiplying those factors in their lives. Sorry, Librans. We know you have been under much duress already with that long-transiting Saturn, plus malefic north node of the Moon, RAHU crossing your 1st house! It won’t last much longer, so hang in there.

MERCURY just moved into Taurus on May 4th – this is helpful to Virgos, as it is the ruler of their chart now passing through their 9th house of good luck, good fortune, Natural Law and remedies. Not so helpful to the other sign it rules, GEMINI, as this represents your 12th house of isolation, solitude, losses and expenses, but it can be a time of spiritually going inward, so try and enjoy that aspect of the transit.

Mercury is also getting out of Combustion (traveling too close to the Sun) on May 8th, which will be a relief to Virgos and Geminis, and also helpful for smoother communication in general, for most everyone.

MERCURY enters Gemini on May 22 at 2:52 p.m. MDT, which will be wonderful for both the Geminis and Virgos of the Vedic Astrology world, as there it is strong in its own sign, bringing more clarity to the intellect, communication and commerce.

MAY 19th is a big date, with Mars finally going direct, from its position in VIRGO, which sign it had retrograded back into some time ago.  Those ruled by MARS (Scorpio and Aries) will have a sensation of progress or events which may have been stalled, moving forward once more.

Thank you for any referrals you may send me for  a personal reading, yearly reading, couples compatibility reading or astrocartography reading,or if you would like to book an appointment for yourself, or as a gift for a family member of dear one. Please just call on me, and we can schedule a 90 minutes, taped session. From the Sunshine Corner, as ever, Mary Stevenson, Vedic Astrologer, 303-473-9393, healingevents@yahoo.com.

VENUS in Capricorn; Mars/Mercury house exchange now

December 7, 2013

Dear Readers, With the new year 2014 bearing down on us, have you thought about having a Yearly Reading to get clear on the astrological influences coming right up for you, and how they’ll affect your life?  Many of my clients do enjoy a fresh look at their planets each year, so please contact me if you’d like to make an appointment, and as usual, thank you for forwarding my Blog posts to your interested friends.

On November 30, 2013 MERCURY moved into Scorpio.

MARS entered VIRGO on November 26, 2013, so now they are each “visiting” each other’s signs.  Here is how this translates for the various signs of the Zodiac (you can learn your Vedic Ascendant and Moon signs by contacting me for a personal reading).

SCORPIOS benefit greatly from this 1st and 11th house ruler exchange.  This connects you to the house of “gain, income and fulfillment of desire.”  Some of the fruits of your previous actions should be coming to you now. Mercury also rules your 8th house so could bring also a few feelings of vulnerability, or some deeper insights that just pop into your awareness, or even some of what we call “other people’s money.”

VIRGOS – for you this is a 1st and 3rd house ruler exchange. This would bring courage, good vitality and greater motivation to get projects done, to name a few qualities.

12/03/2013 – MERCURY went combust the Sun (traveling too close to it, and feeling irritated and not as tactful as usual.)  Mercury rules the signs of Gemini and Virgo, so any of you with these Rising or Sun signs will feel somewhat easily annoyed and reactive until this combustion period ends on 1/20/2014.

VENUS entered a friend’s sign, Capricorn on 12/05/2013.  It will stay there for quite some time – until 1/06/2014 due to being in retrograde motion from 12/21/13 until 1/31/2014.  The retrograde motion of a benefit planet, serves to make it more benefic, in Vedic Astrology.  CAPRICORNS will love having their best planet (yogakaraka) traveling through their first house of self, body and direction of their life, bringing the typical Venusian qualities of affection, enjoyment of luxuries, music, beauty and art. As your 5th and 10th ruler, it can bring you success in your career as well, now.  (Venus backs up into Sagittarius 1/06-2/25/2014)

We will cover the many exciting changes coming up in 2014 further, in my next Blog post. Thank you to those of you who already “follow” my monthly Blog postings.

As usual, I am happy to oblige with a personal reading, yearly reading, couples compatibility reading or astrocartography reading, if you would like to book an appointment. Please just call on me, and we can schedule a 90 minutes, taped session. From the Sunshine Corner, as ever, Mary Stevenson, Vedic Astrologer, 303-473-9393, healingevents@yahoo.com.

Solar Eclipse, November 3rd; Mercury goes Direct on November 10th

November 3, 2013

Today’s Solar Eclipse – November 3, 2013

11/03/2013 – this partial solar eclipse occurred from 5:15 to 7:10 a.m. Mountain Time, but was not actually visible here in Colorado. It was visible and thus affecting astrologically, the eastern 2/3 of the USA, the North Atlantic, northern South America, the Middle East and equatorial Africa.  A good website for visually tracking this and other eclipses is http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/usa/insert name of city here.

Eclipses are inauspicious from the point of view of Vedic Astrology, as here we have malefic Rahu (north node of the Moon), trying to “swallow” i.e. put out of the light of the great luminary of our solar system, the Sun.  This occurred in the sign of LIBRA, which has already been so greatly afflicted in recent months, due to the conjunction of malefic Rahu and exalted Saturn in this sign.  Those with Libra Ascendant or Moon signs would feel this additional affliction from the solar eclipse the most, along with LEOs, as the Sun rules their sign.

At least we are past that dicey period that exists between two eclipses, in this case the partial lunar eclipse which occurred on October 18th, and this one today, the partial solar eclipse of November 3rd.  We are coming into the home stretch! Pretty soon some of the combined intense planet energy will start to lift, as follows:

11/10/2013 – Mercury gets out of retrograde.  The 3 week period that is ending has offered us a chance to review and rectify projects and communications which were started some time ago.  We’ve had an opportunity now to improve, amend or repair whatever was left incomplete, which is a good thing, really.  Of course, the snafus, miscommunications or communications equipment  failures that also accompany any Mercury Retrograde period were in abundance as well.  I guess I have learned to just “not take these things personally” as I was able to laugh off one of these “anything that can go wrong, will” scenarios, while trying to fill my brother’s car with gasoline on a recent visit back to SC.  It was a really laughable and ridiculous situation, that would not have happened unless Mercury was retrograde!

Other coming improvements:

11/07/2013 – Mercury gets out of combustion with the Sun, making Virgos and Geminis (since Mercury rules those signs) feel much happier, and helping communication and commerce for most people.

11/15/2013 – the Sun moves from its debilitation sign of Libra (leaving behind the troublesome Rahu and its enemy Saturn in the process), and moves into a friend’s sign, SCORPIO. This helps renew energy for the Leos of the zodiac, and brings power and focused action to Scorpio Rising and Moon sign folks as well.

11/23/2013 – one problematic occurrence, especially for those with Capricorn or Aquarius Ascendants or Moon signs (as Saturn rules those signs), has been the extreme combustion of Saturn with the Sun.  This combust status does not end until 11/23.  Right now the Sun and Saturn are within 2 degrees of each other, in Libra (which does not make the Librans feel so good, either!).   They will be at the very same degree on November 6th.  Combustion of a planet makes its significations be “like a crispy critter”; so all the GOOD things Saturn stands for, like self discipline, hard work and duty, will be under the gun until this is over.  Once again, we have multiple reasons, as discussed in previous blog posts of  mine, that it will take until the second half of November for planetary conditions and influences to become much improved.

11/06/2013 – another development of great interest will be benefic planet JUPITER going retrograde on this date.  It is transiting the sign of Gemini, and rules the 7th house of partners for this sign. Perhaps Geminis will get the chance to re-examine former connections and consider a fresh start?  Jupiter rules Sagittarius and Pisces, so those with these Rising or Moon signs will also feel the effects.  The retrograde motion continues for a long time – until the wee hours of March 6, 2014 – plenty of time for the above signs to rearrange situations which need some final touches of improvement and put things in order.

MERCURY is now RETROGRADE, 6/26-7/20/13

June 27, 2013

Mercury Retrograde began today, June 26 at 7:05 a.m. MDT.

For several days last week, Mercury and Venus were in a “planetary war” off and on, because they were both traveling at the same degree or at times within one degree of each other, in Gemini.  That means for the signs ruled by Venus (Libra and Taurus) and the signs ruled by Mercury (Gemini and Virgo) you could have had moments of confusion, or feeling weak and a bit “disempowered” etc. Aren’t you glad that is over now that Venus has moved into the next sign (Cancer)?

Have you been wondering what happened to that planet “pile up” which moved progressively from Taurus to Gemini in recent weeks? Here’s the scoop and what to expect now:

June 22, 2013 – Venus moved from Gemini into Cancer, leaving the other 3 planets in the dual Air sign of Gemini: Jupiter (which will be there for a year), Sun (will be there until July 16) and Mercury, which, due to the retrograde motion, will not leave this sign until August 4th.

The people I’ve been feeling the most compassion for are those with Scorpio Rising or Moon signs. Especially if you also happen to have Moon in Cancer, as do a few people I know – for there have been 4 planets crossing Scorpio’s 8th house of transformation and vulnerability, which happens to be the 12th house of loss and expenditures from the Cancer Moon!  Also from the perspective of Scorpio in the Vedic Astrology system, at the same time retrograde Saturn with malefic Rahu have been transiting your 12th house (more losses and expenditures).   At least the recent move of VENUS should lighten your load some. We hope!

June 26 – Mercury retrograde until July 20 at 12:19 p.m. MST.

June 27 – Mars gets out of combustion with the Sun. This is helpful to the signs of Aries and Scorpio.

July 1 – Mercury goes combust the Sun (Virgos & Geminis could feel more anxiety, impatience and agitation, especially when you add that to the retrograde situation). It will stay combust until July 17.

July 4 – Jupiter gets out of combustion with the Sun – good news for Sagittarius and Pisces Rising and Moon signs.

July 4 – MARS ENTERS GEMINI at 1:41 p.m. MST. Scorpio Ascendents and Moon signs beware of this period, as now you’ll have the ruler of your chart ALSO in your 8th house of transformation and vulnerability! So once more, we will see 4 planets in this dual Air sign.  For Cancer Ascendents and Moon signs, this is your 12th house of loss, seclusion, isolation, expenditure, and foreign travel. Let me know how that goes for you!

July 16 – Sun will move into Cancer, and we shall see the beginning of another “planetary pile up” in this movable Water sign. More details on that, next month.
