October Planets: MERCURY Returns to Virgo

October 2, 2016

It’s nice to have some improved planetary news to share this month.

As we know, Mercury got out of retrograde on September 21st. However it has taken all this time to regain the ground it had to back track over during the retrograde period. So, finally:

October 3rd – Mercury re-enters Virgo, where it is very happy as this is its own sign, even gaining Exalted status at certain degrees of this Earth sign. Since Mercury governs communications, commerce and trade, and communications equipment, this will be a valuable improvement for all of the above. In addition, those ruled by Mercury can take heart as they will be feeling much better now: Virgos and Geminis.

October 7th – Mercury will be traveling too close to the Sun once more, thus some of its fine qualities such as logic, tactfulness and diplomacy will feel “combust the Sun.” This period lasts until November 21st.

October 11th -JUPITER gets out of combustion with the Sun. That is some more good news!  The combustion period for this great benefic began on September 11th and caused some waves in our daily lives, especially when it was at the exact degree of the Sun around September 25th. There were several rough days there with Jupiter’s significations made toast by this proximity to the Sun, including happiness, good judgment, intuition, good fortune. Those ruled by Jupiter should take delight in this change now: Sagittarius and Pisces Rising and Moon signs.

October 13th – VENUS enters Scorpio.  It was happy in the previous sign Libra (which it owns), but this will also be a good placement for those ruled by this benefic: Libra and Taurus Rising and Moon signs.  Scorpios benefit too, and will feel more affectionate and romantic now. They just will have to watch their spending.

October 16 – the SUN enters Libra. In this air sign it is debilitated, or in its weakest sign, thus Leos may feel less energy for a thirty day period now (they are ruled by the Sun).  It does not bring harm to Librans, as the Sun rules their house of gain and income, thus their cash flow should be good, but it’s a wise idea for them to watch their tempers now, which is normally not an issue. The Sun can make them feel “overheated.”

October 21 – MERCURY in Libra.  Now Mercury joins the Sun in Libra and that is a mixed blessing for the Librans (some gain/some loss), due to the houses it rules for them.  It is a nice position for the Virgos (their 2nd house of wealth, family and communication) and the Geminis (their 5th house of success, education, and children).

October 31st – MARS enters Capricorn, its sign of exaltation on this Halloween day.  What kind of tricks or treats will it bring there?  It’s nice for those with Capricorn Rising or Moon signs as long as they don’t let their ambition and drive now overpower them with any impatience or quarrelsomeness.  Mars can give rise to accidents, and it will be plenty strong at this time, so depending on which house it rules in your own birth chart, my suggestion is to watch for speeding now and don’t run over any trick-or-treaters! To learn more about how the planet transits are affecting your own life, give me a call to set up a reading.

OCTOBER Planet Changes

October 4, 2015

PLANET CHANGES FOR OCTOBER, 2015

Aren’t we all glad to be beyond the eclipses of September?  I know I am, and looking forward to more positive energies in October, especially as Mercury soon gets out of retrograde!

October 6 – Mercury gets out of its combustion with the Sun.  This has been going on since September 24th. When a planet is traveling too closely to this fiery orb, its qualities get “scorched” a bit. Thus, in the case of Mercury, tactfulness, diplomacy and clear communication could have gone by the wayside.  Everyone would have been affected but especially those with Rising, Moon or Sun signs of Gemini and Virgo in the Vedic Astrology system.

October 9 – MERCURY GOES DIRECT!   Returning to direct motion after its three weeks of “going backwards” allows all the areas that Mercury governs to experience smooth functioning again (see above), so this is especially good news for the Virgos and Geminis. Mercury also rules commerce as well as communication in general, plus the intellect. I expect that decision-making for many people can now be somewhat clearer and freer of underlying dysfunctional patterns.

October 17 – SUN moves into movable air sign LIBRA. The Sun will spend one month in this, its sign of debilitation. It is at its weakest here but Libra’s symbol is the scales of justice. One thing the Sun signifies is government. Thus it is possible this harmony-loving sign of Libra will help bring fair play and balance back into certain current imbalances in governmental-controlled systems. We can hope for the best.

October 26 – Mercury once again becomes combust the Sun. This condition will last all the way to December 13th.  We will need to guard against speech that seems more irritable than usual, and try harder to have patience with the foibles of others. Yes, I know; at times that does not seem easy! This will be one of those times.

October 29 – Mercury enters Libra where it will stay until November 16th. I know you are probably thinking, “Is it ALL ABOUT MERCURY THIS MONTH?” That does seem to be the case, as other than the sign changes of the Moon every 2.5 days, and the Sun doing its once a month shift on October 17th, Mercury is the only planetary player going through changes this month. Let’s hope this means more of an “all quiet on the western front” set of experiences for those ruled by the other planets!

September Vedic Planets and the Upcoming 9 Days of Mother Divine

September 6, 2015

The yearly celebration of the 9 Days of Mother Divine begins on October 13th this year.  For those of you who feel a resonance of alignment with the Mother aspect of the Divine, or the Divine Feminine energy which nurtures all of our lives, you may find it a blessing to participate in a group yagya for this event.

There is a wonderful team of priests on the banks of the Ganges in India, who offer this ancient ritual.  My friend Suzy goes there yearly with her husband, to visit head priest Sajal’s Temple to Mother Divine.  If you wish to have your name included, she will need to receive a new photo from you and of a course a donation for the materials they use in this yagya. Minimum suggested donation is $108 per person.  Her email is suzsez@gmail.com and she will need to hear from you soon, as she has some travel scheduled and that means taking care of all these details with her by SEPTEMBER 22 – she needs your photos and letter of intentions by that date and will need all donations collected to send to India by October 1st.

PLANET MOVEMENTS FOR SEPTEMBER, 2015 in the system of Vedic Astrology, also known as Jyotish

September 6 – Benefic VENUS has gone direct motion now!  This is a very positive development, especially for those whose birth charts and moon charts (Chandra lagna) are ruled by Venus, Libras and Taureans.  Now whatever plans you may have put on hold during this time of Venus retrograde (began July 25) can experience a fresh energy of forward movement and progress. Venus is still crossing through the water sign of CANCER along with Mars, bringing some positive energy and passion to the Cancer Rising and Moon sign people.

September 10 – Benefic JUPITER will get out of combustion, i.e. a period in which it has been traveling too close to the Sun. This is beneficial to those with Leo Rising or Moon signs, as this is where Jupiter is transiting these days, as well as most positive for the Sagittarius and Pisces Rising and Moon sign people, since Jupiter rules your charts. Now you can enjoy feeling less hassled, and more free from irritation and pressure of various types.

September 15 – MARS enters Leo, a friend’s sign.  Mars here joins his cosmic friends Jupiter and the Sun. These are all “male energy” planets so I expect to see the Leo Ascendants and Moon sign people feeling most energized, dynamic, confident, ambitious and driven during this period.  This conjunction is also nice for Cancerians as Leo represents our second house of wealth, family and communication, so much good energy is brewing there for you, too.

September 17 – MERCURY GOES RETROGRADE!  Oh yikes, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.  This retrograde period will last until October 9th.  This “appearance of going backward” condition does not just affect the Virgos and Geminis (which it surely does, with Mercury ruling their charts) but also creates confusion across the astrological sign board, with Mercury representing communication and commerce.  Watch for misconstruing someone else’s words or intentions, and do not be surprised if others misinterpret yours.  It is a time to strive for clarity (Mercury also governs the intellect), diplomacy and tact in your interactions with others. Even communication equipment can have breakdowns or go haywire unexpectedly in these Mercury Retrograde periods. So don’t say I didn’t warn you! Not a good time to be signing new contracts, starting new businesses, or even sending in your tax returns. Can’t it wait?

September 24 – MERCURY goes combust the Sun. This often occurs during a retrograde period, adding more stress to this planet of communication and to the lives of those whose natal charts it rules (Virgo, Gemini).  This time combustion (traveling too close to the fiery Sun) lasts until October 6th.  Watch for getting a short fuse and irritability during this time.

September 30 – VENUS enters Leo.  It joins Jupiter and Mars there, so the party moves to Leo.  This should be a fun time for the fixed fire sign lions of the zodiac. Pleasure, passion, happiness, knowledge…and okay, perhaps a touch of self-indulgence, will now be experienced by those with Leo Ascendants and Moon signs.

Planets Transits in the Vedic Sky for January, 2015

December 31, 2014

Happy Vedic Stars to you in this new year of 2015! I wish you all good fortune as we turn the corner into this fresh start. Please keep in mind as you read my Blog about these planet movements, that your own Dasha periods matter the most, at any time period under consideration. These are your personal planetary cycles, based upon your date, place and accurate time of birth. When I provide my Vedic Astrology readings, we go deeply into the effects that both your dashas and the planet transits (gochara) are having in your life at this time.

Helpful Note: if you have not had your Vedic chart read by me as yet, this will help you understand how your birth chart appears in our system, which is based upon the Sidereal or Fixed Zodiac: just take every planet and also the degree of your Ascendant as they appear in your western astrology chart back 23 degrees, and that will give you a good idea of what your Vedic birth chart looks like to me, so that my Blog posts can be of use to you.

1/01/15 – The MOON is exalted (in Taurus) as we begin this year. This brings blessings of prosperity and positive dealings with the public to those with Taurus Rising or natal Moon charts. Those with Cancer Rising or Moon should benefit as well.

MERCURY makes a lot of changes this month and is a player we must watch.

1/01/15 – MERCURY gets out of combustion. This brings some ease to the Virgo and Gemini Ascendants and Moon chart people, for whenever the ruler of their signs is traveling too close to the Sun there can be friction, and feelings of being easily annoyed and irritated. It’s nice to start the year, getting out of that condition.

Mercury just did move into the sign of Capricorn on 12/31/14, joining its friend, benefic Venus there. Mars also is in Capricorn, its sign of exaltation as the new year starts. Thus the Capricorns of the zodiac should be feeling energized, ambitious, playful and in a very fun-loving mood right now.

1/04/15 – MARS moves into Aquarius. Now the energy torch passes to this fixed Air sign, and those with Aquarius Rising or Moons will feel their worlds heat up with the driving action energy that only Mars can bring. Expect to be drawn into some creative project now. You will also see a boost in your career from this transit.

1/14/15 – The SUN moves into Capricorn for the next 30 days. This is not the most advantageous sign for the Sun, as it is ruled by Saturn, and those two are not friends. For Leos, ruled by the Sun, this represents a 6th house transit for you. The 6th house is associated with enemies, rival, competitors as well as worry, stress, anxiety and health issues. For Capricorns, this represents the 8th house ruler crossing the first house of self and body. The 8th house deals with vulnerability, transformation and sexuality. With this influence impacting you now, Capricorns, try to put off major decisions for one more month, if you can, for you will be feeling better and thinking more clearly once the Sun has moved out of your sign.

1/21/15 – MERCURY RETROGRADE STRIKES AGAIN! Need I say more? These periods come three times per year, typically, and last for three weeks at a time. Thus we will be dealing with this retrograde period’s impact on communications until 2/11/15. This can be experienced in a whole host of ways, from misunderstandings in personal communications, to melt-downs occurring in any equipment that deals with communications. Mercury will be in the sign of Capricorn when this cycle begins, which is a friend’s sign. For Virgos, this represents your 5th house of education and success, so that’s a good placement for the ruler of your chart. The other sign that Mercury rules is Gemini. For the Ascendants and Moon sign Gemini folks, this will be your 8th house transit, so it is not such a comfortable position for you, since this house represents vulnerability.

1/22/15 – Venus moves into Aquarius. Here it will join Mars, which is already in this sign, making those with Aquarius Rising or Moon signs feel sexy and attractive, and adding to your creativity now. Librans will likewise feel rather romantic as Venus represents the ruler of your chart, now crossing the 5th house of romance. Taurus is also ruled by Venus. This transit represents your 10th house, thus career should get some positive energy and focus from you Taureans now.

1/24/15 – MERCURY now also goes Combust the Sun (in addition to being retrograde). It will remain in this condition until 2/04/15. Those who will be most influenced by their ruling planet being too close to the Sun, are Virgos and Geminis. As usual, remember to be tactful and utilize your natural logical abilities vs. giving in to irritability now.

To understand how these planetary shifts affect your own life in 2015, please call me to schedule your personal reading.

Total LUNAR Eclipse 4/14-15; SOLAR Eclipse 4/29

April 6, 2014

Planet Movements for April, 2014

April 3, 2014 – Mercury went into Pisces, where it is “debilitated” or weaker than normal. This could affect tactfulness and diplomacy in general, and particularly affect those ruled by Mercury, the signs of Virgo and Gemini.  However this transit is in a good house for those with these Rising or Moon signs, so really should not be so bad. In other words, not like a “Mercury Retrograde” period!

April 12, 2014 – Mercury becomes “combust the Sun”, meaning traveling so close to the Sun that it can feel irritated and react rashly.  This status lasts until May 8th, and WILL affect Geminis and Virgos, so this is good to know, as a reminder to focus on patience now, as best you can.

April 13, 2014 – SUN enters ARIES, its sign of Exaltation, where it is the stronger and most powerful.  This will be a most auspicious transit for those with LEO Rising or Moon Signs, as the Sun rules Leo. Your leadership abilities should be outstanding now.  Aries sign folks will feel full of energy and dynamism, as well. This is a one month transit.

April 14 -15, 2014 – TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE.  This eclipse is interesting and unusual for a number of reasons. In terms of our local time here in Boulder, CO (Mountain Daylight Time), it begins at 10:53 p.m. on April 14, in the sign of VIRGO. But then the Moon quickly moves into the next sign LIBRA at 11:29 p.m. April 14th, to join the strong Saturn which has been in this sign for so long, and the malefic RAHU, which is trying to now “swallow” the light of the Moon, to put it out, and thus causing the eclipse.   Locally here in CO, we will experience the full effect of this eclipse on April 15th at 1:06 a.m., and it is over at 4:37 a.m. on April 15th.   This celestial event will be visible from North and South America, most of Europe, East Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

April 20, 2014 – MERCURY enters Aries, where it joins its friend, the Sun.  Thus we see it will have a rather brief stay in Pisces, the previous sign, where it was debilitated.  Virgos and Geminis should contact me for a reading to understand the full impact on them personally, for this particularly transit.  It is basically GOOD for the Geminis, for gain and income, and can cause some feeling of “vulnerability” in the Virgos.

Annular Solar Eclipse of April 29

Now malefic Ketu, the south node of the Moon, tries to put out the bright light of the Exalted Sun in Aries. Just a reminder that no eclipse is considered as a positive thing in Vedic Astrology, but quite the opposite.  This eclipse will be visible in the following areas: the South Indian Ocean, the south edge of Indonesia, all of Australia, and Antarctica.  We are fortunate that this event will not be visible here in America.  Here is some very interesting information which I found on the NASA eclipse info website:

The first solar eclipse of 2014 occurs at the Moon’s descending node in southern Aries. This particular eclipse is rather unusual because the central axis of the Moon’s antumbral shadow misses Earth entirely while the shadow edge grazes the planet. Classified as a non-central annular eclipse, such events are rare. Out of the 3,956 annular eclipses occurring during the 5,000-year period -2000 to +3000, only 68 of them or 1.7% are non-central (Espenak and Meeus, 2006).

April 27, 2014 – benefic VENUS enters Pisces, its sign of exaltation which is grand news for those with Taurus rising or Moon signs, since Venus is the lord of your chart, and will now be crossing your 11th house of gain and income, in high status.  It rules Libra as well, but having Venus crossing your 6th house in such high dignity can actually increase your worries, stress, anxiety or “rivals, enemies, and competitors”, so this is not as comfortable for you Libra folks.  Other signs should expect more positive results from this transit, except for the Leos among us, as this is their 8th house of vulnerability and for the Aries folks, it is the 12th house of loss and expenditure, which may be increased for them in this time…until VENUS moves into Aries on MAY 23.

Thank you for any referrals you may send me for  a personal reading, yearly reading, couples compatibility reading or astrocartography reading,or if you would like to book an appointment for yourself, or as a gift for a family member of dear one. Please just call on me, and we can schedule a 90 minutes, taped session. From the Sunshine Corner, as ever, Mary Stevenson, Vedic Astrologer, 303-473-9393, healingevents@yahoo.com.

MARS enters Libra Feb. 4th; Mercury goes Retrograde Feb. 6th

February 3, 2014

Are you ready for the astrological changes February is bringing in?

Well, ready or not, folks, here they come:

2/04/14 – fiery planet MARS enters the air sign Libra, where it will be conjunct with its enemy SATURN, which is very strong in his sign of Exaltation, as well as tricky north node RAHU.  This is going to be one doozy of a conjunction!  Yes, it does make me worry for possible outbreaks of violence throughout the world, including at the Olympics.  This is simply a very volatile planet line up.  Saturn is like the Immovable Object and Mars is like the Irresistible Force, to give you some idea of what I mean.  I am also concerned about several clients, friends and relatives who have been driven nearly to the edge already, just from Saturn and Rahu’s conjunction in Libra for the past year! Those of you with Libra Rising or Moon signs will be feeling this the most….

2/06 until 28 — Mercury will be retrograde. This can be expected to throw the typical monkey wrench into communication and any equipment which deals with same. Try not to take it personally, especially those of you with Virgo or Gemini Rising or Moon signs!

2/12 – Sun enters Aquarius – For Leo, the sign ruled by the Sun, this will be a pleasant change, as it leaves the 6th house of worry, enemies and obstacles and enters the 7th house of partners, travel and marriage, although this is still an enemy’s sign for the Sun, just as Capricorn was in the previous one month transit.

2/09 – 21 – Mercury combust the Sun.  Combustion occurs when a planet travels too close to the Sun. This condition makes the planet (and those ruled by it! – Virgos and Geminis) feel more irritable and crabby, rather than their usual diplomatic selves. Tactfulness may go by the wayside during this period.

2/18 – Mercury backs up into Capricorn (it has been in Aquarius).  Now we have the time to re-examine, or complete projects begun during the previous transit of this sign.

2/25 – Venus enters Capricorn – it is in a friend’s sign here and thus happy to bestow so many Venusian gifts upon those with Capricorn Rising or Moon signs: affection, comforts, even luxuries, pleasures – just be careful not to overdo it in terms of self-indulgence, Capricorns!

Looking ahead some into future months, there are some interesting points to consider:

March 1st Mars will go retrograde, while in Libra.

March 24th Mars backs up into Virgo.  It does not go into direct motion again until May 19th.

JULY 13 will be a heck of a day!!

Early that day, at 1:40 a.m. MDT Rahu moves backwards, into Virgo (and Ketu into Pisces).  At 9:41 a.m. MDT Venus enters Gemini.  At 9:14 p.m. MARS enters Libra (again) and will stay there until September 4th!  So for awhile earlier that day, both Rahu and Mars will be in Sandhi (the gap) at late degrees of the same sign (Virgo) so that’s not a fun time, either.

When is the last time you treated yourself to a Vedic Astrology reading? It is only in the context of a personal reading that I can fully explain what all these planet movements mean for you now, and in the year ahead.

SUN moves into Scorpio; a nice Sun/Mars exchange now

November 16, 2013

Good news for Scorpios!

November 16 – at long last, the planet pile up in beleaguered Libra is starting to clear out!  Very late on Nov. 15 in our Mountain time zone/wee hours of Nov. 16 in time zones east of here, the SUN moved into SCORPIO, a friend’s sign – thus ending a month of duress in its sign of Debilitation, Libra, where it endured a partial solar eclipse due to the conjunction with malefic RAHU and the discomfort and “crowded” feeling of also being conjunct with its great enemy Saturn.

MARS has already been transiting LEO for some time. Mars owns the sign of Scorpio and the Sun owns the sign of Leo, so now they are “visiting” each other’s houses. This planetary exchange brings much more personal power, action and energy to the Scorpio Rising and Moon sign folks!  This is a nice break after having 4 planets piled up in your 12th house of loss, expenditure and isolation. Congratulations, Scorpios. This is a new day and should bring a new outlook.  It will probably also help governmental programs function better now since the SUN represents the government and it’s now out of debilitation. I feel better myself, already!  It will take a day or two for the Sun to move far enough into Scorpio to be out of “the gap” of zero degrees and just a few minutes into this sign, “samedhi” is the Sanskrit term.  Remember I’ve been writing in my last few posts, that this second half of November is when all the “rough stuff” would start to calm down somewhat, planet-transit-wise.

November 23 – Saturn goes out of combustion with the Sun, so it can function better now, too, helping those with Libra Ascendents or Moon signs natally, as well as Capricorns and Aquarians, the signs ruled by Saturn.

November 26 – Mars enters the earth sign of Virgo.  This can bring some energy and ambition to those born under this Rising or Moon sign.  It’s just that Mars also rules their 8th house of vulnerability and transformation.  With Mars also representing accident or acute illness, do take care of yourselves and try not to drive too fast or use any type of power tools in any reckless or hasty manner! Virgos usually pay very good attention to details so they can manage this transit, as long as they do not allow impatience or temper to become a problem. MARS WILL REMAIN IN THIS SIGN ALL THE WAY TILL FEBRUARY 4th.

November 30 – MERCURY enters SCORPIO.  This will reduce the number of planets in Libra down to just two: RAHU and SATURN.  This should help the Librans feel less intense energy than they have for some time.

DECEMBER 2013 brings Mercury going combust on 12/03 and VENUS moving into its friend’s sign Capricorn on 12/05.  Overall, it looks like a calmer time as we move further past the two recent eclipses and unpleasant conjunctions.

As usual please feel free to forward this blog post to others, and I appreciate referrals. To see more clearly how the planets are affecting your own life, I may be contacted to book personal readings at 303-473-9393 and healingevents@yahoo.com – thank you, Mary Stevenson, Vedic Astrologer http://www.vedicstarcharts.com is my website.

Solar Eclipse, November 3rd; Mercury goes Direct on November 10th

November 3, 2013

Today’s Solar Eclipse – November 3, 2013

11/03/2013 – this partial solar eclipse occurred from 5:15 to 7:10 a.m. Mountain Time, but was not actually visible here in Colorado. It was visible and thus affecting astrologically, the eastern 2/3 of the USA, the North Atlantic, northern South America, the Middle East and equatorial Africa.  A good website for visually tracking this and other eclipses is http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/usa/insert name of city here.

Eclipses are inauspicious from the point of view of Vedic Astrology, as here we have malefic Rahu (north node of the Moon), trying to “swallow” i.e. put out of the light of the great luminary of our solar system, the Sun.  This occurred in the sign of LIBRA, which has already been so greatly afflicted in recent months, due to the conjunction of malefic Rahu and exalted Saturn in this sign.  Those with Libra Ascendant or Moon signs would feel this additional affliction from the solar eclipse the most, along with LEOs, as the Sun rules their sign.

At least we are past that dicey period that exists between two eclipses, in this case the partial lunar eclipse which occurred on October 18th, and this one today, the partial solar eclipse of November 3rd.  We are coming into the home stretch! Pretty soon some of the combined intense planet energy will start to lift, as follows:

11/10/2013 – Mercury gets out of retrograde.  The 3 week period that is ending has offered us a chance to review and rectify projects and communications which were started some time ago.  We’ve had an opportunity now to improve, amend or repair whatever was left incomplete, which is a good thing, really.  Of course, the snafus, miscommunications or communications equipment  failures that also accompany any Mercury Retrograde period were in abundance as well.  I guess I have learned to just “not take these things personally” as I was able to laugh off one of these “anything that can go wrong, will” scenarios, while trying to fill my brother’s car with gasoline on a recent visit back to SC.  It was a really laughable and ridiculous situation, that would not have happened unless Mercury was retrograde!

Other coming improvements:

11/07/2013 – Mercury gets out of combustion with the Sun, making Virgos and Geminis (since Mercury rules those signs) feel much happier, and helping communication and commerce for most people.

11/15/2013 – the Sun moves from its debilitation sign of Libra (leaving behind the troublesome Rahu and its enemy Saturn in the process), and moves into a friend’s sign, SCORPIO. This helps renew energy for the Leos of the zodiac, and brings power and focused action to Scorpio Rising and Moon sign folks as well.

11/23/2013 – one problematic occurrence, especially for those with Capricorn or Aquarius Ascendants or Moon signs (as Saturn rules those signs), has been the extreme combustion of Saturn with the Sun.  This combust status does not end until 11/23.  Right now the Sun and Saturn are within 2 degrees of each other, in Libra (which does not make the Librans feel so good, either!).   They will be at the very same degree on November 6th.  Combustion of a planet makes its significations be “like a crispy critter”; so all the GOOD things Saturn stands for, like self discipline, hard work and duty, will be under the gun until this is over.  Once again, we have multiple reasons, as discussed in previous blog posts of  mine, that it will take until the second half of November for planetary conditions and influences to become much improved.

11/06/2013 – another development of great interest will be benefic planet JUPITER going retrograde on this date.  It is transiting the sign of Gemini, and rules the 7th house of partners for this sign. Perhaps Geminis will get the chance to re-examine former connections and consider a fresh start?  Jupiter rules Sagittarius and Pisces, so those with these Rising or Moon signs will also feel the effects.  The retrograde motion continues for a long time – until the wee hours of March 6, 2014 – plenty of time for the above signs to rearrange situations which need some final touches of improvement and put things in order.

Partial Lunar Eclipse in Aries today; Sun joined Saturn and Rahu in Libra

October 18, 2013

Has anyone else been feeling the effects of this partial lunar eclipse today? It is visible in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia. Somehow it has “eaten my keys” which I simply never, ever misplace! Just to give you one small example of its effects.

This eclipse is occurring in the sign of Aries, in the Vedic Astrology system, so those with Aries Rising or Moon in their natal charts will feel it the most. Those with Libra Rising or Moon charts will feel the results in their house of partners!

Speaking of Libras:
October 17 – the Sun joined Saturn and Rahu in Libra. Saturn’s strong dignity here (exalted) will at least help to mitigate or provide Neecha Bhanga Yoga for the Sun’s debilitation in this sign. But it is not a pretty picture. As the Sun nears Saturn’s degree, Saturn gets “combust the Sun” (and thus angry) as of OCTOBER 20th.

By late night of November 6, 2013, Saturn will be completely combust the Sun, to the same degree. These two are arch enemies anyway, so this is not a good state of affairs…for individuals with a Libra chart, and also the impact between Government (which the Sun stands for) and the workers or common people (Saturn). Much friction could still be experienced even though one cliff hanger of stress has just been passed for our country.

Rahu is the Wild Card that can add more unexpected chaos into this already tense situation between Saturn and the Sun. Sorry to have to give you more challenging news, Libras. The Sun will finally move on into Scorpio on November 15 (or the wee hours of the 16th if you are east of our Mountain Time Zone). I really do not expect a calmer atmosphere to prevail until that time.

10/21 – MERCURY GOES RETROGRADE! Also in the sign of Libra, Mercury will make it’s presence known in terms of adding complications to the communication arena now. Libras, Mercury owns for you the 9th house of remedies, good fortune and Natural Law, which is good, but also the 12th house of losses and expenditures, but also spiritual development. The best thing to do at this time is to meditate and stay regular with whatever spiritual path or techniques work for you. Mercury goes DIRECT on November 10th.

October 30th – VENUS enters Sagittarius on this date, bringing more pleasures for those with this sign, so at least there is some good news for someone on this monthly report.

MERCURY is now RETROGRADE, 6/26-7/20/13

June 27, 2013

Mercury Retrograde began today, June 26 at 7:05 a.m. MDT.

For several days last week, Mercury and Venus were in a “planetary war” off and on, because they were both traveling at the same degree or at times within one degree of each other, in Gemini.  That means for the signs ruled by Venus (Libra and Taurus) and the signs ruled by Mercury (Gemini and Virgo) you could have had moments of confusion, or feeling weak and a bit “disempowered” etc. Aren’t you glad that is over now that Venus has moved into the next sign (Cancer)?

Have you been wondering what happened to that planet “pile up” which moved progressively from Taurus to Gemini in recent weeks? Here’s the scoop and what to expect now:

June 22, 2013 – Venus moved from Gemini into Cancer, leaving the other 3 planets in the dual Air sign of Gemini: Jupiter (which will be there for a year), Sun (will be there until July 16) and Mercury, which, due to the retrograde motion, will not leave this sign until August 4th.

The people I’ve been feeling the most compassion for are those with Scorpio Rising or Moon signs. Especially if you also happen to have Moon in Cancer, as do a few people I know – for there have been 4 planets crossing Scorpio’s 8th house of transformation and vulnerability, which happens to be the 12th house of loss and expenditures from the Cancer Moon!  Also from the perspective of Scorpio in the Vedic Astrology system, at the same time retrograde Saturn with malefic Rahu have been transiting your 12th house (more losses and expenditures).   At least the recent move of VENUS should lighten your load some. We hope!

June 26 – Mercury retrograde until July 20 at 12:19 p.m. MST.

June 27 – Mars gets out of combustion with the Sun. This is helpful to the signs of Aries and Scorpio.

July 1 – Mercury goes combust the Sun (Virgos & Geminis could feel more anxiety, impatience and agitation, especially when you add that to the retrograde situation). It will stay combust until July 17.

July 4 – Jupiter gets out of combustion with the Sun – good news for Sagittarius and Pisces Rising and Moon signs.

July 4 – MARS ENTERS GEMINI at 1:41 p.m. MST. Scorpio Ascendents and Moon signs beware of this period, as now you’ll have the ruler of your chart ALSO in your 8th house of transformation and vulnerability! So once more, we will see 4 planets in this dual Air sign.  For Cancer Ascendents and Moon signs, this is your 12th house of loss, seclusion, isolation, expenditure, and foreign travel. Let me know how that goes for you!

July 16 – Sun will move into Cancer, and we shall see the beginning of another “planetary pile up” in this movable Water sign. More details on that, next month.
